Restaurant City Tips and Tricks to Level Up Quick

Zynga is a huge force on Facebook when it comes to social games, but other companies such as Playfish, also have popular games. Restaurant City is the top cooking game online and Zynga's Cafe World comes in a close second.

A lot of Facebook social games use experience points as a way for players to level up, but in Restaurant city gourmet points are needed to move to another level. A fast way to get gourmet points are through recipes. Instead of spreading out ingredients to any available recipe, concentrate on building one menu item at a time up to level 10. While level 1 dishes only get 1 gourmet point when it is served, level 10 recipes give a whopping 2.8 points.

The layout of a restaurant is just as important as level 10 dishes. The best layouts are ones that have very little room between waiters getting food from the stoves and walking to the tables. Instead of spreading tables out across the restaurant, use slim rectangle shapes that enclose the waiters inside. The entire rectangle should be closed and it should consist of tables and stoves. Instead of one long rectangle, players can create multiple square shapes with one of more stove used to make the shape of the table layout. Always turn the stoves, so the cooks are standing outside of the layout.

Ingredients are everything in the restaurant and you can't go forward in the game without them. The best way to always have the most ingredients involves a lot of work in the beginning. The first time you visit a neighbor, you will receive one ingredient. Check the Restaurant City page on Facebook because they give free ingredients every week. Send gifts to friends everyday and they will reward you by sending back an ingredient. When players visit a neighbor, they can trade ingredients with them, so save up extra ingredients. Check the stand outside your restaurant everyday to see what new ingredients are up for sale.

Players who buy Playfish cash and uses it to buy ingredients can quickly level up. Buying non-coin ingredients rewards gamers with a lot of gourmet points.

When you have 8 employees, they should not be spread out. Use four of the employees as cooks, always have one wait if you are using one long rectangle layout for the tables, and the last employee should be a cleaner to remove trash from around the restaurant.

Hotel City Tips and Tricks

Hotel City is a FaceBook social game that allows players to build and run their own hotels. The hotel can grow as big and wide as players would like it to be and there is a lot of room to grow it in the future.

One way to get ahead in Hotel City is to not waste time. In this social game you have to pay money to keep the hotel open. If time runs out, players will lose a lot of revenue and hotel experience points until they log on and restart the game. Figure out how long you will be away from the computer and open the hotel for that amount of time or longer. This will keep the hotel running and earning money as long as possible.

A lot of FaceBook social games does not have interaction with the guests in the game, but in Zynga's Cafe World and Hotel City, this has changed. If you click on customers who are sleeping in a bedroom, players will receive money. Clicking enough guests can help to rack up enough money to buy a new hotel room or decoration.

Early in the game, buy as many budget hotels as you can afford. More guests equals more money, and in this social game, money is as important as hotel points. Place decorative items in the budget rooms to raise the rating as much as possible. This will increase the popularity of your hotel.

Don't waste money on a maid until you have a lot of rooms. Simply click on roaches and dust balls that you see in the room. A maid service will take up valuable space that you could use for a budget room, and it costs a lot of money to hire temporary employees.

Visit all of your neighbors daily. When you visit a neighbor, you will receive coin rewards and even collectibles and decorations. When you are short on money, a neighborly visit can give you extra money to buy more items in the game.

Unlike a lot of Zynga social games on FaceBook, Hotel City can be a set it and forget type of game. Once you have the hotel set up, you would only have to check in every few hours to start a new shift.

Come Stake Your Claim On Zynga's FrontierVille

Although I'm a die-hard Facebook member, I'm not much into social games. So, when a Facebook friend of mine asked me to become his neighbor on FrontierVille, I was a bit hesitant. I didn't want to get wrangled into another game where I'd have to maintain, tend, feed, or sort through anything.

I accepted his neighbor request, and then checked out the game for myself. What fun it is! Even though there are a lot of similarities to other Facebook social games, there are plenty of unique differences that make this game interesting.

The missions (projects that you can choose to participate in where, once complete, will give you a special gift item) are original, as are the encounters with the wild animals, the chance to decorate your homestead, covered wagon, General Store, and other stakes to your claim.

Zynga is planning on adding four new territories for all FrontierVille players to explore. Rattlesnake Canyon is a place where hidden riches can be claimed. Along the way, your player will encounter some pretty unsavory bandits who might need to be taught a thing or two. Gold Rush will give your player a chance to strike their own claim and find their riches within the mountains. Players must be wary of other claim jumpers, who'll do what they can to take over your fair share. Buffalo Range is a place where you can trade stock with Native Americans, and collect the native animals, including the special Iron Horse. The Oregon Trail promises to be another exciting adventure, so your player would need to stock up on ammunition, medicine, and food to take on this long and sometimes trecherous journey.

The addition of these new territories will make FrontierVille an even more exciting new addition to the Zynga family of social games.

Keep FrontierVille Moving With Timed Missions

There are many different things to do in FrontierVille including missions. These are a list of tasks that Zynga provides to keep players interested in the game. Months after FrontierVille first premiered, thousands of fans had run out of missions to complete on their homesteads.

Time Missions

In October 2010, fans logged on to see a new timed mission called “It's Canning Time” on their game screens. These missions are different because you have to play them in a certain amount of time. When someone clicks on the icon, they are told about the new timed mission and the time they have to complete it.

The missions will not start until you choose to click the start button and once you do, you will have a specific amount of time, such as a few days or a full week or more, to complete the mission. However, if you do not start the mission, it will disappear on a specific date. These special missions do not hang around forever, like regular missions.

Plan Timed Missions

Each timed mission is because you will be asked to multiple tasks for each one. Since you only have a limited time to complete these timed goals, you may not have time to waste if you need to sell ten of a specific adult animal, and you don't have any on your homestead. You will have to go through hours and days of regular feeding to grow these animals, and higher paid ones such as an ox, can take close to a week to grow.

Completing a timed mission is easy if you learn how to plan ahead. Before you click start on the newest goal, check a popular FrontierVille forum, such as Zynga's to see what other players have posted. Gamers love to be the first to say that they saw something new in the game, so hours or even days before the mission shows up on your homestead, someone else may have created a forum post about it and what you have to do to complete it.

Once you know what is needed in the timed goal, log into your game to prepare for the mission. For instance, if the forum poster says the game wants you to see 10 adult sheep, buy 10 sheep if you don't have any. Start feeding them, to get them closer to adulthood.

If you need to harvest 20 sunflowers, plant 20 sunflower seeds. However, unlike the animals, do not have the sunflowers before you get the mission because it will not count towards the goal. Also if a neighbor waters your plants during a mission, it counts as a harvest.

So if you need animals or crops to complete a mission, place these items in a good location, to draw attention to them. You will have an easier time with the mission if neighbors water your plants and groom your livestock so that you can shave off some feeding times. If time is growing short for an animal mission, use an “Animal Ready Boost” from the bear collection. Once this boost is used, it will be time to feed your animals again, and you will be able to grow them much faster.

Singular boosts are also available in the upgraded general store from Hank. The prices differ depending on the crop or animal you would like to grow, but these boosts are good for a timed mission. However, most of the new boosts only shaves off a couple hours, they do not work instantly like boosts received from collections.

Timed Mission Rewards

There have been a total of 12 timed goals in Frontier, but very few of them have given experience points as a reward. For the goal “Mutton Bustin”, players received 1000 experience points along with a hitching post and one dinner. The missions always give players a decorative item that they can place on their homestead such as a rabbit rotisserie, a sundial or stuffed groundhog.

These timed missions give players something to do when they have no other missions available. Plus if a player does not like the reward or want to complete the mission, they know that it will disappear in a few days or weeks.
